Hello I'm Lisa, and this is where I learn to build things out loud.

Code, electronics, making, the odd bit of CAD, 3D modelling, laser cutting, basically whatever I'm currently curious about at and trying to get better at. I write it down as it happens, mess and all, rather than tidying it into a neat story afterwards.

Here's the thing I keep noticing: almost everything published about building stuff is the finished version - the confident but complex tutorial. What actually helped me was the other bit, the evening that went sideways, the part that broke, what it really cost, and the "oh, s*** THAT'S why" moment that only shows up after three failed attempts. So that's what lives here. Short notes when something flops, longer write-ups when it's worth explaining properly, and the fast fails and project dead ends kept in on purpose.

I come from design and product, and the line between those and engineering gets blurrier every month. Whilst we're working out in our industries what's next - I'm working out and reminding my creative side sits, in this evolution.

Lab.LilyPixel grew out of Electromagnetic Field (EMF), a 2 year festival camp full of people building fantastic things to share with others. That's the energy I want to carry forward here. I'm drawn to what it looks like to lead from curiosity instead of certainty: to start something before you feel ready, to share the process and document while it's still unfinished and uncertain, and to bring people with you rather than wait until you've got it all figured out.

Consider this my open invitation to do the same. If you've ever been put off by a wall of dense README, intimidating engineering speak, or a tutorial that quietly assumes you already know the ten things you were trying to learn, I want to show you it doesn't have to work that way. You don't need permission or a computer science degree to start making things. Come be curious with me.
